Overview

With this documentary, businessman Alexandre Taillefer seeks to understand what caused the suicide of Thomas, his 14-year-old son. He focuses on the mental health of young Quebecers and explores the impact of the virtual world on the real world. He wants to improve online detection of suicidal ideation as well as mental health prevention. Barely half of young Quebecers who suffer from this are diagnosed and the healthcare system struggles to meet their needs. Some of them will find in video games a way to escape and may spend up to 15 hours a day on them.

While internet addiction is still not recognized as a mental health problem, experts can already witness the consequences in everyday life.
