A documentary inspired by the tragedy that Olympic diving medallist Sylvie Bernier experienced, coupled with a digital component dedicated to drowning prevention.
“Despite Raphaël’s death and the coroner’s report, a family can still end up in a canoe on a river like Nouvelle, ill-equipped, ill-guided. It was a shock to understand this.”
Sylvie Bernier has lived her best moments in the water, but she has also experienced a tragedy. In 2002, her nephew Raphaël drowned right in front of her, unable to act. In a documentary mainly targeting an adult audience, she goes over this moving story with members of her family and water safety experts. We discover unknown facts on the power of water and what remains to be done so that a situation like the one they experienced doesn’t happen again.
Simultaneously, a multi-format, multi-platform digital component offers content targeting mainly 6 to 10-year-old children (serious games, animated comedy capsules, memo board quiz) that allow learning good drowning prevention practises in a fun and engaging atmosphere.
